Tag Tuesday -Eggs

The theme for this week on Tag Tuesday is Eggs.
I used a pretty image of eggs in a nest from The
Graphics Fairy. I surrounded it with lace flowers and flower beads, then
placed on green gingham and a red gingham background.
Happy Easter to you all!

Shamrocks for St Patrick' s Day

Here are some shamrocks for St Patrick's Day.
My husband went to a dinner for St Patrick's
Day, and they were all given shamrock buttonholes.
I had never seen a one before,so thought I
would share so you could all see one too.

Tapestry of Spring Flowers

Spring flowers are everywhere. It is time for me to take out my
tapestry of Spring flowers and do some more work on it. I feel
inspired by the flowers around me. I have completed most of the flowers
and am now on the leaves. It is lovely to do, but slow.

Colour Me Positive- Week 10

Here are my journal pages for Week 10 of Colour Me Positive.
The quote to use was "Every piece of you is a piece of something
beautiful", and the prompt was to use flowers on the pages.
The background was painted with watercolours .
For the right hand page  I used flower stencils printed on a gelli plate,
and collage. For the left hand page I used the same flower
stencils and I wrote the words in a little book.
Trimmings of lace and washi tape were added to finish off the pages.

Tag Tuesday-Blue and Green

On Tag Tuesday the theme for the week is Blue and Green.
I have never liked the saying "Blue and Green should not
be seen", as in my opinion they go together very well!
This is my first attempt at transfer printing with contact tape,
and I am pleased with the result. It could do with some refinement
of technique next time though. I can't wait to have another go.
I have used a paper bag with  a list of Paris Metro stations printed on it, which I thought was perfect for the background, and transfer printed an image from
a serviette.
The instructions for image transfer printing came from the excellent book
Image Transfer Workshop: Mixed-Media Techniques for Successful Transfers
by Darlene Olivia McElroy and Sandra Duran Wilson.

Colour Me positive-Week 9

On Colour Me Positive this week the prompt was
"Live like a grown up, play like a child" and also to
use circles in the page.
I wanted to use cheerful colours and childlike writing. At the
same time I was interested in using texture for my background.
I collaged layers of tissue paper, painted with Inktense
blocks, then brushed with water. They give a good, strong
colour. The sheet music, old book, cardstock, origami  Paper and
newspaper were added to give interest to the background.
The sweet image is from Graphics Fairy,
to show the feeling of playing dressing up.

Tag Tuesday-Layers and Curls and Swirls

Here are two tags for Tag Tuesday from me this week.
I had such fun with the Layers tag that I just kept
going and adding more layers! I am late posting as I
made a list of my method, but then mislaid it.
So here is an approximate description of how I made
my tag:-
I made a background layer with tissue paper
Collaged Italian newsprint
Collaged painted tissue paper
Collaged voile fabric
Collaged hand made paper
Collaged printed tissue paper
Collaged printed voile
Collaged printed hand made paper
Added decoupage butterfly

Layers
I liked the theme of Curls and Swirls and could have done lots
more to this tag. However I stopped myself! I made a background
layer covering card with a hand printed paper. The next layer is printed
using a stencil. Then I added some curly leaves with swirls. The
top layer is more stencil, this time printed on deli paper, which gives
a translucent effect.
