Patchwork for sewing basket

Do you remember the patchwork project book? Well, I am pleased to say I finished my first patchwork piece from the book. I decided to make a liner and pincushion for my sewing basket. When I use it, it will be cheering to see the bright fabrics. I wonder what I shall make next?

Caversham Arts Trail

It is Caversham Arts Trail this week. I really enjoyed going round the trail and meeting some of the artists and seeing their work. There is a lot of beautiful art to look at , with the bonus that it is for sale as well. If you don't want to buy lots, then leave your purse at home! The concept of showing work in the artists' own homes and turning the sitting room or hallway into a gallery is a great idea. It is good to support local artists and have the opportunity to buy locally made work. I don't know if artists in other countries do this, I would be interested to know.

Spring at the Arboretum

Here are some photos of the azaleas at Harcourt Arboretum, which I visited at the weekend. The colours were quite spectacular. Last time I went was in the autumn, with amazing autumn displays.
