The subject for this week's Tag Tuesday is Reindeer and Stags. This was a good subject for a tag as there is so much inspiration out there . They must be on trend at the moment, and so are we! I knew exactly what I wanted to do for my tag, which meant buying a stag stencil to get the image I had in mind. This meant buying a few more stencils at the same time. I painted my new stag stencil on a gelli printed background, using black acrylic to make it stand out. If you look closely you can see some other touches that have been added.

Tag Tuesday-Halloween
Here is my Halloween tag for this week's Tag Tuesday.
I have been practising lettering for the past couple of weeks. I have a lot to learn! I notice some of the players on Tag Tuesday use words in their tags, and I would like to learn some ways to include them.
I have made a simple tag with the old Scottish saying " From ghoulies
and ghosties and long legged beasties and things that go bump in the night may the Lord deliver us"

Tag Tuesday-Trees
This week on Tag Tuesday the theme is Trees. For my tag I have made a rubbing of an embossed picture of trees. I used a bright washi tape for contrast.

Tag Tuesday-Autumn Leaves
Today the theme for Tag Tuesday is Autumn Leaves
Autumn is such a glorious time of year.
The leaves have just started turning now, so this
is a topical tag for us here in the UK.
For my tag I used Gelatos through a stencil, which gave
a lovely textural raised appearance. I added some leaves
from my experiments with transfer printing, these are done
with gloss gel medium.

Tag Tuesday-Autumn Colours
The theme for this week's Tag Tuesday is Autumn Colours
For my tag I used an image transfer technique with gloss gel, from the book "Image Transfer Workshop" by Darlene Olivia McElroy and Sandra Duran Wilson. I have tried out a few different ways to transfer images this week. I like the way it is translucent. It does take a while to do though, so you have to be patient!
I gave the autumn image a silk border and used textured card for the background.

Tag Tuesday- Cats and Dogs
On Tag Tuesday this week our theme is
Cats and Dogs
For my tag I used the embossed frame I made in
my mixed media group this week. We followed a
technique by Andy Skinner to create a rust effect.
I don't think mine worked well as rust, but I like the end
result! This was achieved with a combination of black gesso,
ink and gold paint. I added some braids. The frame was
the perfect size for a cat portrait!

Tag Tuesday-Paper Dolls and Paper Doll's Clothes
I am back to Tag Tuesday after my summer break.
This week's theme is "Paper Dolls and Paper Doll's Clothes"
Here is my little Scottish boy paper doll.
I thought he was really sweet, maybe "bonnie"
is the best word for him. I found him on my
old favourite site The Graphics Fairy.
I had fun assembling him, and have mounted
him on a mixed paper background.
I wanted to finish it off with a piece of
tartan ribbon or some thistles, but don't have
anything suitable in my stash!

Tag Tuesday-Cups and Cutlery
On Tag Tuesday
this week's theme is a really nice one.
For my Cups and Cutlery tag I used
a background of coffee spoons from one of my
favourite sites, The Graphics Fairy. The sheet of
printables had the names of all the spoons on it,
and came from an antiques cutlery catalogue.
My cups are from my collection of Polish blue and
white pottery, which I jazzed up with gel pens. The
photos I used were from my stash, so I hope I get
extra points for that!
I finished it off with some lace, like a lace edged
tablecloth.
I have been encourage by all the taggers being so prompt to
actually post on a Tuesday!

Tag Tuesday-Down the Street
I was very pleased with this week's theme on Tag Tuesday.
Down the Street gave me
chance to draw some of my collection of Polish ceramic
houses. My husband and I, together with our 2 very young
sons lived in Poland for a couple of years in the early
1990s. We used to travel to Krakow from Warsaw for
weekends away. Each time I acquired one of these
beautiful ceramic houses. My tag is a fond memory
of our stay in Poland.

Tag Tuesday-At the Beach
The theme on Tag Tuesday is
At the Beach
This week really feels like summer in
Britain! We even have some sunshine!
This makes me think of going to the seaside.
I thought about a beach hut tag to
suit the theme. I made my beach hut from
card stock and washi tape. I added some
sea shells and a written tag
"Oh I do like to be beside the seaside".
Now where did I put my bucket and spade?

Tag Tuesday-Whatever the Weather
This week's theme on Tag Tuesday
"Whatever the weather"
turned out to be a very accurate
prediction of the weather. The Queen's
90th birthday celebrations, along with
other events such as summer fetes and
village shows have all suffered a little
with our unpredictable weather.
Somehow, we just carry on in spite of it!
For my tag I thought about a Summer fete
with rain.
I used some card stock with several
matching sheets, and collaged some
pieces on top of the bunting image.
I turned the clouds into rain clouds
and added rain drops.

Tag Tuesday-I Spy with My Little Eye
This week on Tag Tuesday our theme is "I spy with my little eye"
This was a nice challenge, plenty of scope
to do anything I wanted.
I decided to go for B and Butterflies, using my new
wooden print blocks from Colouricious .
I thought you would like to see a photo of them!
Aren't they lovely?! I am making lots of prints with them!
......Something beginning with B
Here is my tag.
I stamped a background with a Beauty,
added some Butterflies and Buttons.
The words were written with gel pens.
They didn't turn out as well as I hoped,
I wish I had stamped them now. I popped
into my studio last thing at night, and
decided to finish off my tag! I probably
should have waited till the morning!

Tag Tuesday-Wings and Words
I have made a tag for this week's Tag Tuesday, for the Wings and
Words theme. I haven't been participating in the weekly challenges recently.
This is because I have been getting ready for our local
Open Studio, The Caversham Arts Trail, where I showed some of my stitched textiles
work.
If you would like to read more about it and see some photos, you can find
it on my blog,here
Here is my Wings and Words tag.
The background is printed on a gelli plate. I used the butterfly wings
from a greetings card. The picture was from A
Midsummer Night's Dream by Elsie Piper Harding, which was an illustration
for the Tatler, December 11th 1929.
The words I used came from the Dalai Lama:-" Give the ones
you love wings to fly, roots to come back, and reasons to stay."

Tag Tuesday -Eggs

The theme for this week on Tag Tuesday is Eggs.
I used a pretty image of eggs in a nest from The
Graphics Fairy. I surrounded it with lace flowers and flower beads, then
placed on green gingham and a red gingham background.
Happy Easter to you all!

Tag Tuesday-Blue and Green
On Tag Tuesday the theme for the week is Blue and Green.
I have never liked the saying "Blue and Green should not
be seen", as in my opinion they go together very well!
This is my first attempt at transfer printing with contact tape,
and I am pleased with the result. It could do with some refinement
of technique next time though. I can't wait to have another go.
I have used a paper bag with a list of Paris Metro stations printed on it, which I thought was perfect for the background, and transfer printed an image from
a serviette.
The instructions for image transfer printing came from the excellent book
Image Transfer Workshop: Mixed-Media Techniques for Successful Transfers
by Darlene Olivia McElroy and Sandra Duran Wilson.

Tag Tuesday-Layers and Curls and Swirls
Here are two tags for Tag Tuesday from me this week.
I had such fun with the Layers tag that I just kept
going and adding more layers! I am late posting as I
made a list of my method, but then mislaid it.
So here is an approximate description of how I made
my tag:-
I made a background layer with tissue paper
Collaged Italian newsprint
Collaged painted tissue paper
Collaged voile fabric
Collaged hand made paper
Collaged printed tissue paper
Collaged printed voile
Collaged printed hand made paper
Added decoupage butterfly
| Layers |
| I liked the theme of Curls and Swirls and could have done lots more to this tag. However I stopped myself! I made a background layer covering card with a hand printed paper. The next layer is printed using a stencil. Then I added some curly leaves with swirls. The top layer is more stencil, this time printed on deli paper, which gives a translucent effect. |

Tag Tuesday-Windows
The theme for Tag Tuesday this week is Windows.
For my Windows tag I have made a New York
collage. I had the idea when a friend was
showing me a picture she was using for inspiration
of a cityscape. I remembered that I had fabric snippets
my husband brought me back from New York. (He is well
trained to pick up art and craft supplies when he is
travelling!) I don't think you can get more windows
than this!
I cut and trimmed the pieces of fabric and attached them
to pelmet vilene with Bonadweb. It was very fiddly to
do. The washi tape on the edge is to frame it, but it
didn't stick very well, I will have to redo it.

Tag Tuesday-Vegetables
Here is my tag for Tag Tuesday.
For this week's Vegetables tag I used an image from Graphics Fairy for the gardening frame . I printed a Gelli plate background and collaged some vegetables from a Riverford paper bag, which I coloured in with Sharpies.

Tag Tuesday- Ornate
The theme for Tag Tuesday this week is Ornate. I have used a Gelli print as background. The ornate watch is one I painted in my art class, using Twinkling H2Os. The original is in York Museum, a time piece made by Edward East in 1650, watchmaker to King Charles I and King Charles II. I added some scrolls.
