Inspired by the knitted roses and crocheted primrose my friend, Leona made, I thought I would have a go myself. I bought Lesley Stanfield's book, 100 flowers to knit and crochet, which has a range of knitted and crocheted flower patterns, from basic, through intermediate to advanced. I started with a knitted field poppy, which turned out rather well. I want to use my beginner's crochet skills to try out a pattern, so watch this space !
